CarpQuest – S2E9 – Pueblo Reservoir Carp Fishing – 100F Carping
An afternoon session with James at Pueblo Reservoir fishing in 100°F heat. It was crazy hot but the carp action did not initially seem affected.
In the space of a couple of hours we had 6 runs, put 4 carp on the bank and with a couple of cut-offs.
The bite really turned off as an energetic thunderstorm moved in from the North around 3pm. We gave it another hour but were forced to depart as the wind picked up with 40-60mph gusts and flashes of lightning filled the sky!
My old faithful sportbrella was destroyed as we packed, a freakish blast of wind shredded it – may it rest in “pieces” ! Looks like I will need to acquire another one soon.
Though none of the fish made it to double digits it was still great to get some good runs and fish on the landing mat. I was honestly a little surprised how active the carp were in the boiling temps before the storm rolled in.
Tight-Lines,
John
