CarpQuest – S2E8 – Pikeview Carp Fishing – Heron and Carp Run

I dropped off the carp dog Raven at doggy daycare and decided to get a quick session in at Pikeview Reservoir, next door to their facility. This venue never gives up her golden prizes easily!

My previous six sessions here had ended in blanks, except for a few trout.

This session started my friend James, for a couple of hours, he banked a catfish before his departure around 9am. The next few hours were peaceful, I managed to film some of the local wildlife including a Great Blue Heron that posed for the camera’s. The footage of that amazing bird was GREAT !

Just as I was about to pack up there was a screaming run and I landed a real nice 32″, 18 lb 8oz common carp. This fish fell to sweet corn flavored with GLM and a simple panko pack/dough bait, again, flavored with GLM, “match the hatch”.

The carping “Curse of Pikeview” for 2014 had finally been broken!
