CarpQuest – S2E16 – Adams County Carp Fishing – Battle at the Fairgrounds – Part 1
Competition is fun and battles with your friends can certainly make a session more exciting. In this weeks episode of CarpQuest we continue with a season long carping contest, between myself for England, and Ron, for Canada.
Canada holds a slim 2-1 lead.
We chose the Fairgrounds for this round and on a hot, sunny, late summers day we setup our camp and prepared for battle.
Though many carp were showing it seemed that with all the recent warm weather they were more interested in spawning than feeding.
Not to be defeated by the slim pickings we braved the long hot day and I was finally rewarded with the first carp on the bank, a nice chunky mid-double common.
As we were about to pack up for the day I had a fast strong run on my left rod and hooked into a real good fish. A few seconds later the right rod took off – a double !
Rather than mess with heroics I asked Ron to land the second fish, he was glad he did. It turned out to be a new PB common for him, at 19 lb’s 12oz. We got the first one in and that was a real beast for me and Adams County, at 35″ and 28 lb’s 12 oz.
What an end to the day – and of course, I leveled the scoreboard at 2-2 with Ron & Canada. I must say, I was a very happy man !
All fish this day were caught on CC Moore Live System 15mm boilies, with pellets, concentrated bait dip and PVA mesh/bags.
Tight-Lines,
John
