CarpQuest – S2E13 – Pueblo Reservoir Fishing – Boater Madness and Mirror Carp
What insanity entered our minds when we decided to fish this popular reservoir over the Labor Day weekend ?
I thought I had seen everything, I was wrong as an insane boater parked literally right on top of our lines, not more than 30 feet or so from the bank!
The video shows the boater, AFTER, I had moved my setup to the left…
Quick Rant: You CANNOT leave a red buoy out and then show up many hours later, drive over the lines of people fishing and claim “we took your spot” ! Total Madness !
Rather than become engaged in a “war” we decided to move, though we had been on the spot for 3 hours. We relocated to the other side of the reservoir.
The move proved productive and I managed to bank my first ever mirror carp from this venue, stunning 13 lb’er. Another nice little common followed. Mirrors are a very rare capture from this particular reservoir, out of 30 or so common carp captures here this was the first mirror i’ve seen.
James had a double run but alas both fish were lost, one cut off and one hook pulled. Tired, frustrated, hot and emotionally worn down, we packed up mid-afternoon and headed home.
It was a _long_ day !
Tight-Lines,
John
