CarpQuest – S1E4 – Quail Lake Carp Fishing
A nice sunny session at Quail Lake this past Sunday. Fished from around 7:30am to 4pm. This was my 4th session on this venue this year. Weather was foreast to be overcast but we had good sun, a clear sky, though high winds in the afternoon.
First carp was banked at about 7:35am – this little 2.5 lb’er was caught when I was setting up and my hook picked up a snapped off line from another angler. I hauled in by hand about 50 yards of weeds and on the end was the little carp. No idea how long he had been on that hook for but he was released happy back to the lake (no picture or video as we were just setting up!).
Second carp was caught by C-Dog (Chris) at 10:10am who was fishing with me today. He landed his first ever common carp, at 7.5 lb, it was healthy, strong and put up a good fight. (picture included). Well done C-Dog !
Our final carp I landed around 10:50am, a fiesty 15 lb 2oz common (video and picture).
We departed around 4pm. We did catch a few obligatory trout through the day. Included a picture of one for the trout fans near end. All carp were caught with big-bobs corn on a hair rig popped up with some enterprise fake corn and panko packbait.
Tight-Lines,
John
