CarpQuest – S1E10 – Chatfield Carp Fishing – Carnage – Part 2
I returned to Chatfield Reservoir with my good friend from work, Patrick. When we arrived at the chosen swim the temps were in the 70s and it was sunny and calm. I fished both rods, panko/rolled oats pack with big bobs corn on the hair. Patrick was targeting trout,
After fishing for a few hours, with no bites, we decided to move further down the bank towards where Patrick had seen some carp showing earlier. This turned out to be a very good move, albeit, at lunchtime strong wind blew in across the reservoir into our face, 30+ gusts, 20+ sustained. It was crazy for sure !
Soon after the move I was carp on. Then another carp, and another. It was carp carnage all over again. In total I banked 8 carp, 14’8, 10’10, 11’5, 15’8, 14’9, 15’4 and 12’6 and my new PB common carp at 28’6!.
Sadly Patrick blanked, I do believe the pelicans patrolling where he was casting had “eaten” all his fish !
What a GREAT day this was – Carp Carnage at Chatfield part-2 was born !
Many thanks to Patrick for his camera & net work – his filming certainly made this a day to remember!
Tight-Lines,
John
