CarpQuest – S1E2 – Quail Lake Carp Fishing

My 1st session this year at Quail Lake, downtown Colorado Springs. This venue had been quite successful for me back in 2012 and I decided, though still covered half in ice, to give it a try on a rather chilly and overcast Friday morning. The conditions weren’t great, cold, windy and the swim I had chosen quickly deteriorated into a pile of mud – this did not bode well !

In honor of my viewers, who commented that my last videos had 0 fish, I was determined to at least capture something aquatic this time out and get it on film. Sadly, after a 6 hour session, all I managed to bank was 4 trout – but hey, at least 3 of them are on film and the 4th was so darn small it would hardly count as bait !

I had a couple of decent runs, alas, everything came off – I am pretty certain a couple of them were carp but we shall never know for sure – at least that’s my story!

I certainly need to go back to the drawing board and work on my rigs. I had switched up this year to a longer leader and that may be the cause of my issues.
